With known Climate Change impact on our coast, and the fact that SA is hosting the COP 17 in November/December this year, the timing if this initiative by uThungulu could probably not have been more opportune.
Also affected would be the planned Waterfront/Marina Development, Dunes Node Development (north of Richards Bay), planned Port developments, etc. as well as one of my personal passions, the matter of the global ban on vehicular access to our beaches. The study done to date and input to be given and shared are critical for Richards Bay’s future growth and development, and I encourage maximum participation.
If you cannot attend, at least pass your comments onto the consultants to ensure that your voice is heard ! Future generations are dependent on decisions made in our era. Non-participation may just mean that your knowledge are not conveyed to ensure that recommendations and decisions that are taken are appropriate, sustainable, etc.
