Local homegrown firebrand Jolene Erasmus and her soul mate Heidi Barker have embarked on an adventure of a lifetime traveling down the coast to Capetown, up through Namibia and beyond.
Hopefully we will get fairly regular feedback from the ‘grenades’ despite patchy signal in the wilderness. It would seem they are leaving their own special brand of Jo’isms and Heids’isms across the continent.
So lets join up with them:
Following Anne’s direction to her new home in Stellenbosch we soon realized that the turn off following Anne’s directions does not match with the off ramps we were passing. Once we managed to work out that Anne’s directions were related to the N1 and we were on the N2, so about 30km short of Cape Town we managed to redirect ourselves towards Stellenbosch again.
Arriving at Anne’s new home, we realized Anne was still on Swazi time and was still on her way to meet us at her house. After investigating Anne’s house and finding an open window, we decided we’ll just let ourselves in while waiting for Anne for get home.
On our tourist day trip with Anne and some of her friends we visited Spier wine estate – BEST wine estate ever. We were only suppose to taste 5 of their wines, but for some reason our waitress kept bring us more and more wine and leaving it on our table, BIG mistake!!!
Arriving at Ali’s we were greeted with yummy food, more vino and new friends, Quinton and Nicola. Huge thank you to Mobilis, company for who Quinton works for, who sponsored us an amazing slim line laptop protection case, which protects the laptop from clumsiness, vibrations and dust. We were also fortune enough to go Great White Shark Gage diving with ……, big thank you for the team at ….. who were great and very professional.
The month we spent at Ali’s flew by, seeing I had to work on finishing a website project and Heidi ending up being sick. Never the less we had an amazing time staying with our giving friend Ali and her daughter Leah. So after taking over our dear friend Ali’s house for over a month our luxury accommodation days has come to an end and we are finally back on the road again, on our way to Namibia
