An estimated 51billion bottles are used annually in America alone, with only 1 in 5 being recycled. Thats a lot of landfill, and fast becoming an environmental disaster.
Enter the boxed water concept by Boxed Water is Better
Part sustainable water company, part art project, part philanthropic project, and completely curious. We started with the simple idea of creating a bottled water brand that is kinder to the environment and gives back.
We found that it shouldn’t be bottled at all but instead, boxed.
Using a product that is far more sustainable than plastic, 76% of their boxes are from trees, a renewable source, and far easier to recycle. An added advantage is being able to ship their boxes flat packed to the bottling plants, a far more efficient system than shipping empty bottles.
The trees used to make our box come from certified, well managed forests. These forests remain healthy and stable through ongoing replanting while removing CO2 from the atmosphere.
They make a strong argument in favour of boxed water, what are your thoughts on this?
